Welcome to Health for Hemophilia!

Your child with hemophilia has a bright future ahead. The Cincinnati Children’s Hemophilia Treatment Center believes that if children with hemophilia lead a healthy lifestyle by eating well, moving more, and making safe physical activity choices, they will grow up to be healthy adults. We want to help your child and your family make healthy choices so that they can live a great life while managing their bleeding disorder.

The purpose of this webpage is to provide information on health and wellness for your child with hemophilia and for the entire family. The information on this webpage can be viewed in 2 ways:

  1. Weekly: For those who choose to follow the lessons in order, you would start with Lesson 1 and complete 1 lesson each week.  When you and your family begin each lesson, set a family goal. You can download and print this goal tracking sheet to track your weekly goal.

    Each lesson involves reading information and watching videos. They should not take more than 15 minutes of your time. However, the exercises on the videos and the suggestions for healthy eating can be used throughout the week.

  2. As Needed: Use the Health for Hemophilia webpage as your go-to resource guide for:

    • Recipes for healthy eating on the go

    • Ideas for how your family can be active together

    • Tips for how your child can make safe choices for sports and fitness
